The Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation (FFEM)’s photo expo "Women in action: Breaking Stereotypes in the Euro-Mediterranean Region" continues its journey in Europe after having visited Paris, Lisbon, Barcelona and Tarragona!
This time, it will be organized within the framework of the 22nd edition of ‘’ Temps de Femmes’’ (Women’s Times) forum which will take place on 25 – 26 September 2019 at Coco Velten Hall in Marseille, France, under the theme ‘’ International Solidarity and women’s economic empowerment’’
Later, the exhibition will be presented and commented during the conference ‘’ Gender, resistance and social innovations in the Euro-Mediterranean area in crisis (s) – GECRIS’’ (« Genre, résistance et innovations sociales dans l’espace euro-méditerranéen en situation de crise(s) – GECRIS ») which will take place between 7 and 27 November 2019 at the Mediterrabean Home for Human Science (Maison méditerranéenne des sciences de l’homme) in Aix-en-Provence.
"Women in action: Breaking Stereotypes in the Euro-Mediterranean Region" is an ambulant exhibition , fruit of the photography contest "Powerful women: Breaking stereotypes in the Euro-Mediterranean region", which was launched by the FFEM in November of 2017, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The exhibition highlights the stories of 10 brave and inspiring women contributing, each in her way, to changing mindsets and challenging gender stereotypes and in different cities and villages in Algeria, Belgium, Egypt, Israel, Morocco, Palestine and Turkey.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
