Between 23 and 30 of November 2019, the Moroccan capital, Rabat, will be hosting the 2nd Annual African Women Artisans’ Congress, and the 11th Dar Maalma Expo. Both events are organized by the Network of Women Artisans of Morocco - Dar Maalma.
The “Complementary African Women Artisans in the Digital Era” congress is expected to gather women artisans from 27 African countries and experts from the entire world to discuss women’s economic empowering and ways to adapt women artisans’ work to the digital era.
The congress will include several workshops for women artisans and an introduction to e-commerce and digital marketing, in addition to sessions on various subjects such as ‘’African women and the digital transformation’’, ‘’young artisans and inclusive transition’’, ‘’advocacy for the economic and social rights of women artisans’’.
Meanwhile, the expo will reflect the skills and creations of women artists and will feature many handmade products.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
