The ‘’Make your voice heard” initiative to combat violence against women concluded 2018 activities with a training held in Tetouan (northern Morocco) on 15 and 16 December 2018, with the participation of young women who were selected to be the ambassadors of the initiative in their communities.
The first day focused on multimedia production mechanisms inspired by realistic experiences of abused women, while the second day was dedicated to international and national legislations on combatting violence against women, especially the new law against violence against women 103.13.
During the training, participants presented ideas for media content inspired by the stories and experiences of abused women, whether victims or witnesses. They also planned advocacy campaigns aimed at amending the family code to end minors’ marriage and combat, through awareness campaigns, spouse rape, a widespread form of violence that remain invisible given multiple social considerations.
The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange experiences and establish a working group in Tetouan under the name of "’Make your voice heard Ambassadors " which aim to organize awareness campaigns targeting women of the city and the surrounding areas as well as to hold meetings and other workshops in Tetouan.
