This dialogue will be held from 24 to 26 October 2017 in Casablanca (Morocco) as part of the CSO WINS project “Capacity-Building in the Southern Mediterranean to Open Policy Dialogue and Monitoring for Women in Society” funded by the European Union. CSO WINS is coordinated by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in synergy with the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation and in partnership with the Federation of the League of Women’s Rights, DJAZAIROUNA, the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research, the Forum Femmes Méditerranée, the Palestinian Businesswomen’s Association Asala and the Euro-Mediterranean Academic and Scientific Network on Women and Gender.
The event is conceived as a space for dialogue between 36 associations that are engaged in favour of women’s rights, European and Euro-Mediterranean policy makers, and other international stakeholders and organizations active in the field of gender equality in the Southern Mediterranean.
The objective of this regional dialogue is to strengthen the role of associations in the planning, implementation and monitoring of European and Euro-Mediterranean policies related to women’s rights and gender equality in the Southern Mediterranean.
In concrete terms, the meeting aims at:
The event will take place in two stages: a first day and a half reserved for civil society (24-25 October), and one full day dedicated to the dialogue with the institutions (26 October). The regional dialogue is an invitation-only event.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 “Strengthening the capacities of equality actors” of the Priority Solidarity Fund “Women for the future in the Mediterranean” funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women’s Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
