The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo (Three Mediterranean Cultures’ Foundation) and the Ministry of Moroccan residents abroad and Migration Affairs from Morocco organizes, with the City Council of Cadiz and the Town Hall of Jerez de la Frontera, the Forum ’Women in the Mediterranean area: identity, political participation, leadership and emancipation’ which will be held in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, the 24th and 25th May 2017.
This event is the first of three meetings that will take place this year as part of the ’Alqantara program: puentes para el diálogo y el entendimiento’ (bridges for dialogue and understanding). The main goal of the program is to serve as a platform in order to make women visible as a force for change in different areas of work, such as politics, culture, economy and business, which traditionally have been attributed to men.
For this reason, in the forum many personalities from different fields of work will participate for sharing their experiences. One of the guests is Maria-Àngels Roque, from the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) and from the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation.
People interested in participating can register for free here.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
