The Conference will start with an opening session by ECWR's Chair woman: Ms. Nehad Aboul Komsan, His Excellency Ambassador. James Moran- Head of European Union to Egypt, and His Excellency Ambassador. Arturo Avello Díez del Corral- Embassy of Spain in Cairo
The opening session will be followed by an analysis for 2015 parliamentary elections, from a gender perspective, and to what extent the legislative environment was supportive for women.
This will be followed by two sessions to discuss the current situation of women in political alliances and parties and to what extent these alliances were supportive for women to join the parliament and perform her parliamentary role. This comes in addition to the legislative agenda related to women. Additionally, the sessions will address the proposed legislative mechanisms to ensure an increase in female representation in the next parliament.
The conference will end with presenting some of the distinctive experiences for women in the current parliament "Opportunities and Challenges" and how they managed their electoral battles.
