This call will open in June 2015 in order to identify associations working for gender equality capable of mobilising and strengthening the action agreed between the equality actors on a local scale in several southern Mediterranean countries.
These actors can be associations working for gender equality, research or education centres on equality, local or regional authorities working for gender equality, enterprises or media outlets committed to equality.
The 7 leaders selected will be entrusted to organise, in their territory, a meeting for the sharing of experiences and monitoring of gender public policies. The objective of these meetings will be to identify the actors working for gender equality and put them in contact thanks to the sharing of good practices and the reflection on the challenges of equality. They will enable a local vision in terms of the evolution of public policies on equality in specific territories.
The leaders selected will be invited to a framework regional dialogue in order to favour synergies between all the local clusters and facilitate the preparation of the activities entrusted to them. Thus, the regional dialogue will enable the links between organisations sharing similar objectives to be strengthened and favour the sharing of work methods in the field of equality.
The Call is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of actors working for gender equality", of the project Women for the future in the Mediterranean, funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development and the project “Developing Women’s Empowerment”, labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
