As part of the activities of the International Consortium EFH, an exhibition of rural women’s handicrafts was organised on the occasion of the International Day of Rural Women in collaboration with the House of Entrepreneurship of the University of Mostaganem and the Chamber of Crafts and Trades of Mostaganem.
This was an opportunity to give more visibility to rural women artisans and to value their work, but also to raise awareness among students, the university community and socio-economic partners of the issues involved in promoting women’s entrepreneurship, which is considered to be an engine of economic growth and development.
Beyond its training and research objectives, the University is a key partner of economic, social and cultural actors in the development of society and the achievement of the 2030 SDGs. The empowerment of all women and girls (SDG 5) is thus one of the major challenges to which all actors, including universities, are called upon to respond!
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
