On 4 and 5 November 2021, the European Network of Women Journalists brought together women journalists and communicators from the Mediterranean, at the occasion of the Conference "Communicating in the Mediterranean with a Gender Perspective". The event represented the relaunch of a communication network focusing on gender that was created in 2007 and which brought together journalists and communication experts from both sides of the Mediterranean, collectives and associations that work with a gender perspective.
Since its creation, and within the framework of the network, various conferences have been held in different parts of the Mediterranean. With this new meeting, Barcelona remains a key meeting point to enable dialogue between the voices that make up the richness of the region, and the IEMed continues to be an actor that facilitates such a dialogue.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
